LeBron James just reached the historic record of 40,000 points in a game where the Lakers were facing the Denver Nuggets at the Crypto.com Arena.
The 40K-point mountain has been conquered by none other than the legendary LeBron James, in the second quarter of the match where his Los Angeles Lakers are facing the Denver Nuggets in LA. This historic accolade is another proof that the Kingโ€™s legacy is so huge that transcends the world of basketball itself. Being an example of longevity and consistency, James at 39 years old and playing his 20th season continues to perform at the highest level.
Before becoming the first human to reach this insane amount of points, the King has accomplished milestone after milestone, and we want to take a look at the most impressive achievements in his ilustrous career.
  • One of his most overlooked records is his 8 straight finals appearances. This is absolutely sensational, LeBron went to the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat for 4 straight years, from 2011-2014. He won two of them (2012 and 2013). Then he went back to Cleveland and entered an another 4-year streak going for the title, from 2015 to 2018. He won it all in 2016, in one of the most remembered finals series of modern NBA history, coming back from 3-1 deficit to defeat the leagueโ€™s powerhouse, Golden State Warriors.
  • His non-human longevity and the excellence of his game made possible surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar not only in total points scored, but also in playoffs points scored: 8,023 points.
  • Going along with his playoffs accolades, the King has the most playoffs victories, 182 and the most amount of minutes played in the post-season: 11,654. Pure winner DNA.
  • At last another record that we canโ€™t take for granted is the fact that LeBron is the only player to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists in 4 different finals: 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2020. A testament to his dominance and versatility on court.
