The Los Angeles Lakers registered another important win, this time against the in-form Milwaukee Bucks with a score of 128-124 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

We are bringing you three key points about what this victory would mean for the Lakers going into the business end of the 2023-24 NBA season. Austin Reaves, LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be the key players.

Strengthening position

The Lakers registered their fourth consecutive win on Tuesday which kept them in the ninth position in the Western Conference table with 40 wins and 32 defeats.

With that result, Darvin Ham’s men have strengthened their position to secure a spot in the play-in tournament. Not only that, but they have also kept their hopes alive of climbing up the table and finishing in the top six.

However, that will only depend on how the other three teams ahead of them in the table — Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns — will perform in the remaining matches.

Some winnable fixtures

The Lakers have 10 remaining fixtures left in the ongoing regular season and seven of them will be on the road. However, there are some very winnable fixtures out of the 10 such as the ones against the nearly eliminated Toronto Raptors, already eliminated Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies (twice) and 11th-placed in the Eastern Conference Brooklyn Nets.

Therefore, if they manage to win all those matches and a few others, there is no reason why they cannot be in contention to even finish in the top six come the end of the campaign.

Versatile attack

The Lakers won against a formidable opposition on Tuesday and one thing which would please the fans is how the team performed on the night. They managed to do so without the presence of legendary star LeBron James.

The star of the night was forward Anthony Davis who registered 34 points to go with 23 rebounds and two assists. He was well supported by point guard D'Angelo Russell and shooting guard Austin Reaves as they registered 29 points each, respectively.
