The
Los Angeles Lakers have suffered a massive blow as their
star player
LeBron James has been reportedly ruled out of the match against the
Golden State Warriors.
The match, which is scheduled to be played on Thursday at the
Chase Center in San Francisco, is one of the most watched basketball contests in
the country, largely because it gives the fans a chance to watch two of the
greatest players of this generation in James and Stephen Curry going head to head.
However, as per the Athletic reporter Shams Charania, that
will not be the case this time around as the 39-year-old will now miss the
contest because of an ankle injury.
His absence will be a severe blow to the Lakers who are placed
in the fourth spot in the Pacific Division with 30 wins and 26 defeats.
James has been the Lakers’ star performer this season, averaging 24.8 points per game, the second-best by any player
from the franchise. That’s not it as he also contributes 7.2 rebounds and 7.8
assists per game which is the best by any Lakers players this season.
The four-time NBA champion’s most impressive outing this
season came in the match against the Oklahoma City Thunder where he managed to
register 40 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists to his name.
