In the second official game of the NBA Playoffs 2024 after Cleveland Cavaliers' victory over Orlando Magic, Minnesota Timberwolves has defeated Phoenix Suns to take the lead in their playoffs by a score of 120-95. Anthony Edwards has been the MVP of the game, overcoming the great performance of Kevin Durant for the Suns.
The game was evenly matched until the end of the first quarter, when the Timberwolves began to take off on the scoreboard, and Phoenix never led again. Anthony Edwards was the star of the game, with 33 points, nine rebounds and six assists, accompanied by 19 points from Karl-Anthony Towns and 18 off the bench from Nickeil Alexander-Walker.
For the Suns, it was Durant who, in vain, pulled the team's cart throughout Game 1. With 31 points, the star of the Angelina franchise noticed the lack of offensive presence of his great teammate, Devin Booker, who barely scored 18 points.
In the battle of the paint, Rudy Gobert completely overwhelmed Jusuf Nurkic. The former finished the game with 14 points and 16 rebounds, while the latter could only score nine points and grab four rebounds.
Game 2 of the series will once again be in Minneapolis, with Minnesota Timberwolves leading Phoenix Suns 1-0, and will be played on Tuesday at 7:30 PM ET.
