NBA insider Shams Charania has revealed the injury update of
the
Los Angeles Clippers small forward
Kawhi Leonard.
The 32-year-old had to come out during the match against the
Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday which left the fans holding their breath.
Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue, while talking to ESPN
after the match, stated his reason for substituting the star player because he was
carrying a back spasm before the match.
NBA insider Charania has recently been quoted in a report
where he stated that Leonard apparently aggravated the back spasm because of
which he had to be substituted.
"He made the bucket, but you could by the way he
landed⦠he grimaced and tugged his back a little bit," he said. "He
was so uncomfortable that the Clippers decided that, instead of sitting on the
bench, it was best for him to go home.
"There's obvious concern when it comes to back spasms.
It really just depends on how his back reacts to treatment over the coming
days. The hope for the Clippers is you try to mitigate the [back spasms] with
treatment and it just goes away."
Leonard has been an extremely influential player from the
Clippers this season where he is contributing 23.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.7
assists per game.
