NBA transfer insider Jake Fischer believes there is a chance
that
Los Angeles Lakers star
LeBron James might join the
Golden State Warriors
in the next
free agency.
The 39-year-old’s future remains up for discussion and a report from ESPN claimed that the Warriors were keen to sign James in the recently concluded
mid-season transfer window.
Fischer was recently quoted in a report where he stated that
there is a serious chance that might happen in the summer.
“I, without a doubt, believe [there] is the chance this
happens this summer,” he said. “A lot of what’s going to happen this off-season
will be dependent on first-round, second-round flameouts and what have you.
“If Atlanta and what happens with Trae (Young) and Dejounte
(Murray) is one of the buzziest (situations), ‘oh, could Trae become available’
things? That’s probably number two behind ‘will LeBron in that player option
(year) decide to potentially leave the Lakers.”
The current deal of the Ohio-born with the Lakers is set to
expire in the summer of 2025 but the last year must be activated by a player
himself.
James has been phenomenal this season for the Lakers once
again as he is contributing 25 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game.
