According to ESPN, there is a deal between
Miami Heat and
Charlotte Hornets for the transfer of
Terry Rozier in exchange for Kyle Lowry. In a few minutes we will give more details of a move with which Florida intends to add legs and scoring to a rotation in need of both.
As Shams Charania explained on the Run It Back show, the Hornets in addition to Lowry will receive several draft picks, including a first round pick from the Heat.Rozier, who played his first few seasons with Boston Celtics in the NBA, has spent his last four and a half seasons in Charlotte, averaging more than 18 points per game. This season was his best in scoring, with 23.2 per game and a 45.9% shooting percentage from the field (35.8 in three-pointers).
We assume that Pat Riley has been combing the market in recent weeks and that Rozier was the best they could find in exchange for Lowry's troubled contract and a first round draft pick. We'll see if that's the only move they make or they want something else.
The Hornets, meanwhile, will see if they want Lowry to bring some order to a team that is not having a great season or decide to cut him.
