The New York Knicks are the fifth-best team in the Eastern Conference with a 25-17 record, which puts them firmly in the middle of the pack. That means they are interested in making a few changes before the NBA trade deadline in order to make things better before the playoffs.
According to HoopsHype, the Knicks are contemplating a few changes to the roster just a short time after landing OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors.
The Knicks are allegedly interested in sending away the expiring contracts of Evan Fournier and Quintin Grimes. Both players have fallen out of favor with head coach Tom Thibodeau and have mostly disappeared from the rotation.
It's not clear which direction the Knicks would take if they found trade partners for either of those stars. They have been linked to Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks, but the Knicks aren't keen on making a big deal for him so soon after landing Anunoby.
The Knicks are also thinking of pursuing other players, including Terry Rozier of the Charlotte Hornets and Malcolm Brogdon of the Portland Trail Blazers.
They might also be interested in finding a backup power forward instead.
It is clear that the Knicks have a few choices to make before the February 8 trade deadline. They could try to get Rozier, Brogdon, or someone else. And there is also the chance that they just sit still and not make any moves until the upcoming offseason, when other players could be ready for a move.
