The Indiana Pacers surprised the NBA world this week when they landed Pascal Siakam, formerly of the Toronto Raptors. Siakam, a two-time All-Star, is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game so far this season. He could greatly impact the team's frontcourt.
Speaking of Indiana's frontcourt, it is now even more crowded with the inclusion of Siakam. The team now has Obi Toppin, Buddy Hield, Bennedict Mathurin, Myles Turner, Isaiah Jackson, Jalen Smith, Andrew Nembhard, and others filling the roster.
Because of that, HoopsHype is reporting that multiple insiders believe the Pacers will make another move before the trade deadline in early February.
The conventional wisdom said that Hield was eventually supposed to take on a smaller role within the team so that Mathurin and Nembhard could get more time running the team. Therefore, some people expect Hield to be sent away from the Pacers.
For the last few seasons, numerous teams have allegedly been interested in signing Hield so his time may have finally come.
The Pacers have had an impressive season so far and are currently the seventh-best team in the Eastern Conference with a 24-17 record.
Powered by the immense skills of Tyrese Haliburton, the Pacers have become playoff contenders again. They are considered one of the most exciting young teams in the conference. Will they be content to ride out the rest of the season with the group they have now or will they manage to land at least one more player before the trade deadline on February 8.
