The new York Knicks have been without Julius Randle since he suffered a shoulder injury back in January. And even though his season has had its fair share of ups and down so far, the team is missing him in a big way.
The Knicks have dropped to the last in three-point accuracy since losing Randle. They have also suffered in other ways related to shooting too. The Knicks are 12-10 without Randle, compared to 29-17 with him on the court.
Even other players, such as Jalen Brunson, have suffered without Randle. Before losing Randle, Brunson was sinking 42.6% of his three-pointers, and now he's only landing 34.4% of them.
In several ways, the Knicks are lacking some extra power and drive without Randle and they are eager to get him back as soon as possible. However, there isn't a clear timetable for his return.
The playoffs are quickly approaching and New York has a real shot at going far this year. They are the fourth seed in the East with a 41-27 record, which puts them in a great position heading into the postseason. But their chances would be even greater if Randle was still playing. The loss of OG Anunoby, who is suffering his own injury, is also hurting the Knicks.
Knicks faithful really hope that Randle is able to suit up again before the playoffs because he will need a brief adjustment period before he's fully playing like himself again. But the Knicks don't have much time to spare.
