The
New York Knicks were one of winners in this trade deadline, bringing on board great assets to face what's left of the regular season and the following playoffs. Unfortunately,
OG Anunoby, one of their key players responsible for their success this campaign will have to stay out of action for a couple of weeks.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, OG was dealing with a minor injury in his right elbow. The player tried to recover with some rest but finally decided to undergo surgery to fix the problem from root, in order to be fully healed and recovered for the last part of this regular season.
Anunoby is expected to miss three weeks of action to fully recover from this minor procedure . After that, OG will be back to basketball activities.
The versatile wingman joins Julius Randle, who's recovering from a severe shoulder injury and still has time left before returning to action. What's been amazing about this Knicks is that despite the health issues, have managed to keep winning, proving what a complete unit they are.
OG Anunoby is averaging 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists, with splits of almost 50% from the field and 40% from three-point territory. His contribution has been priceless for New York, especially on the defensive end. OG's size and quickness allows him to guard almost any position, disrupting the rival's offense.
We'll see if the Knicks keep their pace or perhaps face a slow down this following games. However, they can be glad that two of their stars will be back and rested before the playoffs arrive.
