The
Philadelphia 76ers star center
Joel Embiid has become
the latest superstar to join the shoe brand Sketchers.
As per the latest report, the 30-year-old has signed a multi-year
deal that will make him the ‘face of the company’s basketball division’.
Embiid became the third player after the New York Knicks forward
Julius Randle and Los Angeles Clippers guard Terance Mann to join the brand.
It was reported back in October by the Athletic that the
famous shoe brand was starting a basketball division after signing a host of football
stars under the football division.
The brand previously announced the signing England’s
football captain Harry Kane and Arsenal's star left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko in
January earlier this years.
Embiid has recently returned to action after a gap of more
than two months in the team’s important win against the Oklahoma City Thunder
with a score of 109-105 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
After the win, the Sixers remain alive in the race to finish
in the top six as currently they are placed in the eighth spot in the Eastern
Conference with 41 wins and 35 defeats.
Embiid ended up playing 29 minutes on the court in the match
on Tuesday where he registered 24 points to go with six rebounds and seven
assists.
