Fans on social media have lambasted the performance of the
Los Angeles Lakers, that too on a special day against the
Denver Nuggets.
The Lakers went down in the contest with a score of 114-106
on Thursday at the crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The defeat was a severe blow
for the home side as it was a day marked for special events.
On Thursday, the Lakers unveiled a statue to pay tribute to their
former star
Kobe Bryant to acknowledge his contribution to the franchise.
The defeat did not go down well for the franchise
supporters, especially on the social media platform X—previously known as
Twitter—where they expressed their anger in different ways. One of them went on
to even write that Bryant would ‘rolling in his grave’ after that performance.
The defeat was the Lakers' first after three consecutive victories as they are still placed in the fourth position in the Pacific standings with
27 wins and 26 defeats.
On the night, the star performer for the winning team was point
guard Jamal Murray who ended up registering 29 points to go with seven rebounds
and 11 assists.
For the home team, power forward Anthony Davis was the star
performer as he ended up registering 32 points to go with nine rebounds and
three assists.
