Chief Executive Officer of the
Chicago Bulls Arturas Karnisovas
stated that he will take responsibility if the team fails to win anything significant
this season.
That comment came after the Bulls did not make any move on
the transfer deadline day for the third consecutive year.
The 52-year-old was recently quoted in a report where he
stated that the goal is to stay competitive and that it is too early to judge
whether the season will be a failure or a success for the Bulls.
"We would take a step back, which we don't want," said
Karnisovas. "We want to say competitive. We have an obligation to this
city to stay competitive and compete for the playoffs.
"It's a result-driven business, and I get it. I'll take
responsibility for failures. But at this point it's very early to say what's
success, what's not success. We have 30 games to go. We'll see what this team
can do."
Bulls recently registered an important win against the Memphis
Grizzlies with a score of 118-110 at the FedEx Forum on Thursday. It was their third
win in the last four matches.
Despite that result, the Bulls remain in fourth place in the
Central Standings with 25 wins and 27 defeats.
