The
Golden State Warriors forward
Andrew Wiggins has had a
difficult season where he kept missing games, citing family reasons. On more
than one occasion this season, it was reported that the 29-year-old has decided to take a
break from the sport to settle some ‘personal issues’.
Interestingly, his brother, Nick has also announced that he
will be taking a break as has to go to Canada to attend to a family matter urgently.
He just started playing in Indonesia.
The news brought mixed reactions from the fans on social
media. Some feared that the development means that Wiggins has now been ruled
out of the remainder of the season. "I don't get it so Wiggins is out for
the season?" a fan asked on the social media platform X — previously known
as Twitter.
Others prayed for the well-being of the Wiggins family who
are going through a turbulent time for a while. “Clearly been affecting Wiggins
play over the last year and a half. Mind not on basketball and I can’t blame
em, prayers up,” another fan wrote.
Wiggins had a decent season for the Warriors where he contributed
12.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. His most recent outing came
in the match against the Memphis Grizzlies where he ended up registering 22
points to go with 10 rebounds and three assists.
