Reminder: Steph Curry has the most 30-point games by a point guard since 1963.
The Golden State Warriors may or may not make their way into the playoffs this season but there is no denying that Stephen Curry has had another wonderful year and has reminded people, once again, just how special he is.
For the year, he has averaged 26.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5 assists on 44.8% from the field and 40.3% from the three-point line.
One thing that is keeping Golden State's postseason hopes alive is the fact that Curry gets even more red-hot in the playoffs. For example, he scored 30.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.1 assists during the team's playoff run last season. There is a hope that if the team is able to fight its way into the postseason this year, Curry can once again light up the scoreboard.
2023-24 was yet another example of the natural and unparalleled skill that Curry has. He is able to score from all over the court and still moves with lightning-fast reflexes and speed, even at 36 years old.
Curry still has his problem areas, of course. He has never been a terrific defensive player and that remained true this season. Additionally, injuries have become more common with the four-time champion, but he has remained relatively healthy for most of the year.
The Warriors got both good and bad news from Curry this year. The good news is that he is still a terrific player and major threat to numerous teams. But the bad news is that the rest of the roster still has trouble keeping up with him and he is still relied on far too often.
Curry has had a wonderful regular season and now it's time to see if he can push his team back into the playoffs.
