As reported by The Athletic's Shams Charania, Los Angeles Lakers' center Anthony Davis is set to miss one of the biggests games of the season tonight between his team and Stephen Curry's Golden State Warriors. The Lakers arrive to this matchup playing solid basketball, seeking a victory in front of their home crowd to continue climbing in the playoffs ladder.
Playing without Davis against a Golden State team that also improved drastically since the All-star break up to this point will be a huge challenge for LA. LeBron and the rest of the team must step up in order to stop Golden State and prevent them to move up from that 10th spot.
This matchup could be easily a prequel to what we might get to witness a week from now, when the play-in games will be taking the central stage.
The Brow has had a brilliant 2023-24 campaign with the Lakers, playing 74 games (the most since his arrival in 2019). During this season the 31-year-old superstar averages 24.5 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, while shooting 55% from the field. In those five games that AD was sidelined, the Lakers hold a 2-3 record.
Three games left until the end of the season and everything is on the line in the West. The fight to avoid the play-in has been even more intense than the fight to control the top of the conference.
