On the final day of the NBA trade market, the Golden State Warriors traded away Cory Joseph, sending the player to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for a second-round draft pick and cash. This move became the only modification made by the franchise to face the final stretch of the 2023/24 regular season.
About Joseph's trade to the Pacers, Stephen Curry was not too happy about it. The Warriors star, in his latest statements, regretted the departure of his now former teammate, whom he held in high esteem.
"It's a bummer to lose Cory. If anybody knows Cory Joseph and his personality, his presence.... He's the ultimate professional," Curry said. "He brings a great spirit in the locker room helping the young guys. He's been around, he knows how to play. That type of person is a connector and he'll be missed for sure. Obviously it's been tough. I understand the business of the game and the money and all that, but we're going to miss him for sure."
Stephen Curry himself comes from being the player of the night in the NBA, after precisely scoring 42 points with 11 three-pointers (the first six in the first quarter of the game, without a miss) to Indiana Pacers, and thanks to that the Warriors could add their 24th victory of the season (24-25 record) to get closer to the play-in positions.
Cory Joseph, meanwhile, is currently without a team after the Pacers fired him immediately after he was traded from the Golden State Warriors. We will have to keep an eye on the buyout market, where the player could become a signing for a ring contender.
