The final part of
Taj Gibson's career has been closely linked to the
New York Knicks. However Gibson played for the Wizards last season, but came back to New York were he had been playing since 2019. On January Gibson's contract was cut after just playing 10 games. Nowadays it appears that the Knicks want to have their veteran near the Madison Square Garden.
It seems that this "love story" has not yet lived its last chapter. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, 23 days after firing him, the Knicks have reached an agreement with Taj Gibson to sign him to a 10-day contract.
Most likely this decision was made after the news that Julius Randle will be out for several weeks with a dislocated shoulder. Tom Thibodeau's squad, without one of its main stars, needs depth to face a decisive regular season phase, as right now the Knicks are 4th in the Eastern Conference with a 30-17 record.
Taj Gibson's most productive season with New York Knicks was his first, 2019/20, where he played 62 games, 56 starts, and averaged 6.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
