The Summer
Olympic games are coming soon. From July 26th to August 11th the bests athletes in the world will be reuniting in Paris for the prestigious event. USA Basketball confirmed today the last member of the team that will be heading to France to compete for a gold medal.
Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers All-Star, is the final piece of what appears to be a formidable squad.
Today, Grant Hill, former NBA player and managing director of USA basketball, confirmed that he has met with nearly every player invited to be a part of the Dream Team 3.0 but it was until today that he was able to firm up the Klaw's acceptance to be part of the Roster that's going to Paris.
With Kawhi's addition,
Team USA will be featuring Joel Embiid, Anthony Davis and Bam Adebayo as the frontcourt players.
LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Kawhi Leonard and
Kevin Durant will be the forwards and finally,
Stephen Curry, Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Booker an Jrue Holiday will be the team's guards.
Steve Kerr, 4-time NBA Champion as Golden State head coach will be directing the team in France. His legendary Warriors' player, Steph Curry, will be playing his first Olympics. Jayson Tatum and Anthony Edwards are the only survivors from the team that finished fourth last year, in the 2023 FIBA World Cup played in Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.
USA Basketball joined a list filled with an absurd amount of talent and accomplishments. After last year's outcome in the basketball world cup, USA is aiming to reinsure its dominance around the world. They are by far the best team, but unlike other Olympics, this edition will be featuring several teams that could be a problem for the United States. Greece and Spain aren't confirmed but they are always a threat, France's potential with Victor Wembanyama playing at home is incredible. Serbia has a great team led perhaps by the best player in the world right now, Nikola Jokic.
It will be one of the most exciting basketball Olympic tournaments ever, with top teams and players competing at their best.
