San Antonio Spurs young centre
Victor Wembanyama has
revealed that participating in three-point and dunk
All-Star contests is on his ‘bucket
list’.
The 20-year-old was asked about this after the Spurs' recent
match against the Dallas Mavericks to which he responded by saying: “Yes.
That’s on my bucket list.”
Further on, Wembanyama, talking about his own performance on
a rather disappointing night, stated that such games do not ‘ruin his weekend
experience’.
“This match doesn’t ruin my weekend experience,” he said. “I
try to stay professional until the end and do my job, but the truth is, I’m
eager for all of this to be over.”
Spurs suffered a thumping defeat against the Mavericks with
a score of 116-93 at the American Airlines Center on Thursday. The defeat left
Spurs in the fifth position in the Southwest Division with just 11 wins and 44
defeats.
Despite the result, Wembanyama was the star performer for
the losing team as he ended up registering 26 points to go with nine rebounds
and five assists.
The Le Chesnay-born is having a more than decent season for
the Spurs where he is averaging 20.5 points, 10 rebounds and 3.2 assists per
game. His best outing this season came in the match against the Phoenix Suns
where he registered 38 points to go with 10 rebounds and two assists.
