A team is only capable of winning a lot of games with a deep and talented bench. With a talented and committed second unit, an NBA squad is able to defeat numerous opponents and also have a strong postseason sun.
This year, there have been many great NBA stars who have done a lot off the bench. But five rise above the rest. Here are the five NBA payers who have the most points off the bench in the 2023-24 season.
Tim Hardaway Jr. - 852 points
The Dallas Mavericks star is one of the reasons why the team has been surging so much lately. While most people pay attention to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, Hardaway has posted an average of 13.7 points per game and has also added 2.7 three-pointers too. He takes some of the pressure of Doncic and Irving and leads the second unit well.
Cole Anthony - 884 points
The Orlando Magic have been doing incredible work this season, one of the best young teams in the league.
Cole Anthony has been a crucial part of that, scoring 11.8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists per game off the bench. When the starters in Orlando are resting, Anthony rises up.
Norman Powell - 961 points
The Los Angeles Clippers are known for having some of the biggest stars in the West: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook. But Norman Powell shouldn't be forgotten.
In his 69 games this year, Powell has averaged 13.9 points, giving the team a huge boost when their A-listers are resting.
Bobby Portis - 994 points
If the Milwaukee Bucks win another championship this year, it'll be because bench players like Bobby Portis are helping out a lot. So far this season, he has done this a lot. He is posting 13.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game and is always eager to help out as one of the most talented role players in the league.
Beyond his point total, Portis is known as a natural and gifted team leader who encourages and inspires the rest of the Bucks.
Malik Monk - 1,110 points
There is a very good chance that Malik Monk of the Sacramento Kings wins Sixth Man of the Year this season. He has been a major reason why the team has lit the beam again and again throughout the year.
During his 72 appearances this season, Monk has averaged 15.4 points. Unfortunately, the magic may have run out for Monk, as he recently suffered an MCL sprain and is expected to be out for four to six weeks.
