Tyrese Maxey returned from a 2-game absence and he played out of his mind as he led the Philadelphia 76ers to a 109-105 victory over the Miami Heat at Kaseya Center.
The All-Star guard finished with a game-high 37 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists, and 5 three-pointers for the 76ers. Joel Embiid played amazing in his second game back as he recorded 29 points with 3 triples. This was the first game that the dynamic duo played together in nearly two months and they looked unstoppable. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 18 points and 8 boards while Kyle Lowry ended with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists against his former team.
Terry Rozier led the Heat with 22 points and 6 makes from downtown. Jimmy Butler scored 20 points while Bam Adebayo finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Love provided 11 points and 16 rebounds off the bench.
Philadelphia improves to 42-35 with this win and sit just 1 game behind the Pacers for the 6th seed. The Sixers have gone 2-0 since the return of their MVP and they have a chance to escape the play-in which would be huge for them.
This team is starting to look like their old form and they will be a dangerous team to face in the playoffs as they can upset one of the top 4 teams in the first round. They are now on a 3-game winning streak and will look to keep this momentum up on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Miami drops to 42-34 with this loss and is currently in the play-in as the 7th seed. Losing this game is devastating for this squad as they are looking to make another deep playoff push and they would like to avoid playing extra games. The Heat are 6-4 over their last 10 games and will look to bounce back tomorrow against the Houston Rockets.
