The
Miami Heat were shorthanded tonight, as they were
without
Jimmy Butler due to a suspension as well as Tyler Herro and Terry
Rozier because of a knee injury. However, that didn’t stop them from fighting,
as
Bam Adebayo led the way and helped his squad defeat the
Sacramento Kings 121-110
at Golden 1 Center.
Jimmy Butler got into an altercation in the previous game
against the New Orleans Pelicans. He got ejected in that game and suspended for
1 game, which took place tonight. Teammates Nikola Jovic and Thomas Bryant also
got suspended for their actions on Friday.
In this game, All-Star Bam Adebayo took charge, leading the
team with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists on 61% shooting. Jaime Jaquez started
and finished with 26 points on 71% efficiency. Caleb Martin scored 16 points
while Delon Wright had 13 points. Kevin Love came off the bench and ended with
19 points in 15 minutes of playing time.
For the Kings, De’Aaron Fox played phenomenal, ending with
27 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
Domantas Sabonis recorded
another triple double, tallying 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. Keegan
Murray had a team high 28 points with 6 made threes while Kevin Huerter
finished with 14 points.
This win improves the Heat to 32-25, which makes them 6th in
the Eastern Conference. This win is huge for Miami as they are fighting to
avoid the play-in tournament. This is now 4 wins in a row (all on the road) and
a record of 8-2 over their last 10 games. Their next contest will be on Tuesday
against the Portland Trail Blazers where they’ll look to continue this road
winning streak.
Meanwhile, this loss drops the Kings to 33-24, which makes
them 7th in the Western Conference. Sacramento is now 0.5 games behind the 6th
seeded Pelicans for the last guaranteed playoff spot, so this loss is
devastating as they are doing their best to avoid the play-in tournament. This
loss snaps a 3-game winning streak and they are now 5-5 over their last 10 games.
They will look to bounce back on Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets.
