The
New York Knicks will sadly be without
OG Anunoby for a third-straight game on Saturday, as they take on the Brooklyn Nets. He will once again miss a game due to what the team calls "injury management" after surgery repaired his right elbow.
During his first 17 games with the Knicks, Anunoby has been a huge help for the team, scoring an average of 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. He has been a huge help both offensively and defensively too and has appeared like the missing piece that the Knicks needed all season long.
Anunoby last played for New York on March 16, during their win over the Sacramento Kings.
Since his short absence began, the Knicks have gone 1-1. They remain the fifth-best team in the Eastern Conference with a 41-28 record.
Although the team wishes that Anunoby would be back as soon as possible, they are also committed to not rushing him back. They want him in the best shape possible when the playoffs begin in a few weeks. The team is already without
Mitchell Robinson for the rest of the season and
Julius Randle's return has been slow so they don't want to risk making his injury worse and want his recovery to work.
