"There's definitely a chance,Lakers have looked into him,Miami scouted him,Toronto scouted him" - @ShamsCharania on Bronny James via The Pat McAfee Show
Even though he may not be the most talented college basketball player in the world, Bronny James is gaining a lot of attention from several NBA teams ahead of the 2024 draft.
That is true for a few reasons but most notably because the conventional wisdom says the team that signs Bronny might also be able to acquire his father, LeBron James.
One of LeBron's old teams, the Miami Heat, are reportedly interested in signing the USC freshman in the next NBA Draft 2024.
Speaking on The Pat McAffee Show, NBA insider Shams Charania listed the teams that could take a run at Bronny.
"Lakers have scouted him, Miami, Toronto… plenty of teams have gone out and scouted Bronny James," Charania said. "The question is: will he declare [for the draft] or return [to college]."
As Charania noted, there are a few teams thinking of signing Bronny, including the Los Angeles Lakers. They have the most to gain from getting the young player because it would make his father very happy and ensure that he will retire as a Laker.
As for the Heat, they own their first-round pick this year. It's not clear if James will be a first or second-round pick in the draft but the team could definitely sign him, especially if they think it's a way to bring LeBron back to Florida.
Bronny hasn't officially declared his intentions for next year. While it is very possible that he tries to make his way into the NBA, he might also elect to remain with USC for his sophomore year. As for LeBron, he has until June 29 to decide if he will take his player option with the Lakers.
