For a large portion of the 2023-24 NBA season, the Detroit Pistons were widely regarded as the worst team in the entire league. They even reached historic heights in losing when they earned a legendary streak of defeats.
But now another team is considered worse: the Washington Wizards. They now have a 9-52 record and have lost 15 games in a row.
The last time they walked away with a victory was back on January 29, when they took down the San Antonio Spurs by five points. Just days before they beat the Pistons, 118-104.
The Wizards didn't win a single game in the month of February and March isn't looking a lot better for them. They last lost to the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, and Utah Jazz and next face the Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets later this week.
Is there a chance they can secure a win against either of those teams?
To be fair, few people thought the Wizards were going to be good this season but they are still doing even worse than the most pessimistic expectations. At this point, fans are wondering what the team will do in the summer to shake things up because it's very clear the team can't stay like this much longer.
Jordan Poole, Kyle Kuzma, and a number of other players may be shipped away in the offseason because it's very obvious that the Wizards need to be reworked entirely to be good again.
