Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse has heaped praise
on shooting guard
Buddy Hield after his performance against the New York
Knicks.
The Sixers came out on top in a low-scoring affair with a
score of 79-73 at the Madison Square Garden in New York on Sunday.
Hield was one of the star performers for the winning team as
he ended up registering 16 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists and
one steal.
Nurse was quoted after the match where he heaped praise on
the Bahamas-born and stated optimism that he can deliver much better
performances in the matches to come.
“He’s had some games where it’s tough for him to squeeze off
good shots,” said Nurse. “He’s had some games where he’s gotten enough good
shots that he hasn’t made, too. Probably a little bit of us figuring out how to
use him, probably a little bit the ebbs and flows of the season. I think
there’s a lot of those that he feels pretty good about … they’re just not going
in.
“So hopefully it’ll ebb and flow the right way for him a
little bit soon. Still like him, still getting used to what he can do. Still
think there’s a lot more he can give us, too.”
