"They can help us" Luka Doncic likes new recruits to the Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks didn't do much before Thursday's NBA trade deadline but the team's biggest star, Luka Doncic, is happy with the minor moves they made.
The Mavericks added players P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford, hoping to improve the roster surrounding Doncic and Kyrie Irving. The team also parted ways with Grant Williams, who allegedly didn't get along well with other players on the team.
Doncic revealed that the team's front office spoke with him before all of the moves that they made, and he sounded quite happy with the developments.
"I think we've got two really good players," Doncic said. "We added some size to our team. We added a backup center, which I wanted [for] like three years already. So, I think both players are really going to help us out a lot."
Doncic is particularly excited to see what Washington can do with his shooting and blocking. Both he and Gafford will assists rookie star Dereck Lively II and will be tasked with protecting the paint and improving Dallas' rather weak defensive skills.
"They are two different players, but with their size, they can help us," Doncic said.
After a hot start at the beginning of the season, the Mavericks have come back down to Earth a bit and are now the eighth seed in the West with a 29-23 record. They are hoping that they can climb back up in the rankings and return to the playoffs, which they weren't able to do last year.
