Phoenix Suns' star guard,
Bradley Beal, had a very good game against the New Orleans Pelicans last Sunday. He scored 33 points in a brilliant effort to win a game against a direct rival in the fight for the 6th seed in the West. Unfortunately, the Pelicans were able to prevail despite Bradley's performance. The scoring outburst is a step in the right direction for Beal to regain his confidence in order to help his team get to the playoffs.
The ninth-year guard is averaging 16.4 points while shooting 55.4% percent from the field in four April games. Beal has dealt with several minor injuries that sidelined him for several games this campaign, his first with the Suns.
“A lot of it was just being in the flow and being in a rhythm,” Beal said about the scoring outburst. “Honestly, a lot of teammates were gassing me on the sidelines too. They just encourage me to keep going and be aggressive," said the guard. Without Bradley Beal on court, Phoenix doesn't have a point guard, so he tries to focus on creating and making things easier for
Devin Booker.
Beal himself sparked a 10-0 run for the Suns, who took a 96-95 lead in the fourth quarter following Beal's corner three on an assist from Jusuf Nurkic. It was the only time that the Suns were ahead in the scoreboard.
"Obviously, if you see one go in or two or three, it entices you to shoot more. I was fortunate that I was able to line them up and knock some down. It was a good run. It was a good stretch. We cut the lead down to two. It was good basketball. We just had to sustain that, and I wish we could have come out of the other side of it," cocluded the 12-year-old veteran.
Phoenix has a complicate schedule ahead, but the roster is filled with superstar talents. If they can find better rhythm on offense they are a dangerous team to face in the play-in or in the upcoming playoffs.
