The
Golden State Warriors continue to be put under the scope. Tonight they went to visit one of the Western Conference best teams, the
Minnesota Timberwolves, and, even with their superstar players,
Stephen Curry, playing wonderfully, that wasn't enough to surpass Anthony Edwards' team.
The Western Conference is at its peak regarding the level of competition, with a little over ten games until the end of this regular season, the Golden State Warriors needed a victory to continue to put pressure on their immediate rival, the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite Curry's impressive performance, the Warriors couldn't surpass the T'Wolves and are now just one victory ahead over the 11th seeded Houston Rockets.
It seems like the challenges throughout this very difficult season aren't over. For quite some time it looked like Golden State and the Lakers secured, at least, their play-in spot for the upcoming playoffs. But with a very impressive run by a determined Houston Rockets team, who yesterday registered their 8th win in a row, things are beginning to complicate and it's not guaranteeed that we'll be seeing the Warriors after the regular season ending.
The Warriors, 10th seeded in the Western Conference, have failed to prove their consistency. Every Golden State player except Steph have lacked of efficiency at some point in this regular season. When the Warriors head coach,
Steve Kerr, was asked about increasing Steph's minutes on the court, Kerr answered:
"We're trying to keep him around 30 minutes, trying to get him as much rest as as we can. We played him a lot of minutes, playing 35 two dayas ago, so as long as we were hangin' in there we wanted to limit the minutes a little bit..., not limit him, but not overplay him."
"We got great players out there so you can't expect to just ride Steph game after game. This last couple of weeks have been tough, we've put the burden of this franchise on his shoulders for 15 years, we can't expect him to play 35 minutes," concluded the Warriors' head coach.
Golden State prepares to continue on this five-game road trip traveling to Florida for a duel against the Miami Heat next Tuesday. They need every piece of the team completedly locked down if they want to come out with a smile from this exhausting schedule.
