In this Wednesday premier Matchup, the league's best team,
Boston Celtics, received their immediate chasers in the Eastern Conference, the
Milwaukee Bucks, who came without their leader,
Giannis Antetokounmpo. While Boston dominated, Milwaukee had it's chances in the fourth. After the game, Bucks head coach,
Doc Rivers, pointed out some of the keys for his team failure.
Boston continues playing great against their East rivals, and tonight it was no exception, but the Bucks might have helped them a little bit, with a total of 14 turnovers. About this, Rivers said:
"It was one of those games were they kept getting the lead and we kept fighting back. As far as that, you love that. We did keep fighting. We ended up shooting the ball better than them. I thought our zone was really effective."
"We had a lot of self-inflicted wounds tonight, with turnovers, offensive rebounds, bad possessions defensively. Switching when we shouldn't switch, fouling late."
"Overall it was great thing for us, to watch film, to learn, to get better. So this was a really good learning opportunity for us, that's the way I look at it," concluded the 2008 NBA Champion head coach.
Regarding
Damian Lillard's improvement, Rivers answered:
"I told Dame, 'who cares who's guarding you', 'make 'em guard you'. The adjustment he made, he started going to the basket more in the second half and I thought that was good for him."
Milwaukee is just one win away from the Cavs, who also lost their game tonight. They'll be playing again in Milwaukee on Thursday, against the Brooklyn Nets.
