The
Los Angeles Lakers star
LeBron James has revealed the
reason behind his team’s outstanding comeback win over city rivals
Los Angeles Clippers.
The Lakers defeated their hometown rival in an absolute
classic with a score of 116-112 at the crypto.com Arena on Wednesday. The victory
was a special one, especially considering how the Lakers managed to overturn a
19-point deficit in the fourth quarter to secure an unlikely win.
After the match, James was quoted in a report stating
that the players kept on believing till the end which was the reason for such a
result.
“The game is not ever over until there is double zeroes,
which you see over there. So we just kept fighting and getting defensive stops,
and made some shots,” he said.
Lakers coach Darvin Ham echoed James’ words and stated that
the team decided to start the final quarter aggressively which paid dividends.
“We came out and fought through a tough third quarter,” he said.
“That group that started the fourth quarter really set a tone with their
activity, their aggressiveness in that fourth… we needed one of these.”
The star of the show on the night for the winning team was James
who ended up registering 34 points to go with six rebounds and eight assists.
