The UConn Huskies outclassed Purdue's Boilermakers in the NCAA Finals. After demonstrating their dominance in the Big East, UConn continue to succeed during March Madness, cruising through every opponents they had. With this title, UConn has now 6 and ties in the 3rd place as the most succesful basketball program with the North Carolina Tar Heels. Huskies win 75-60, back-to-back titles for UConn as a new NCAA is born.
The heavily favorite UConn Huskies played excellent basketball the entire season and today they were unmatch. This is the second year they accomplished this milestone. Last year they've won by a 17 points margin against San Diego St and tonight they've defeated Purdue by 15. UConn's players bought into Dan Hurley's playstyle and they've been thriving since.
Tristen Newton won the NCAA's most outstanding player again, he recorded 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assissts, shooting 6-13 from the field. Stephon Castle, one of the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft most coveted players scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Donovan Clingan and Cam Spencer were also key for UConn, scoring 11 points.
On Purdue's side, Zach Edey was spectacular. The 7-4 center recorded the insane amount of 37 points, alongside with 10 rebounds. Unfortunately for the Boilermakers, the rest of the team really struggled to make some shots. Braden Smith tried to help with his 12 points and 8 assists but they were outscored by the Huskies offense.
The National Championship will be coming back next year, and with some interesting changes such as the legendary coach, John Calipari, going to Arkansas, it will be a new landscape. Will UConn continue to cement its legacy?
