The President of the Basketball Operations at Philadelphia
76ers
Daryl Morey has landed himself in hot waters after trading Patrick
Beverley with Milwaukee Bucks.
The 35-year-old was allowed to leave the franchise before
the end of the mid-season transfer window and join the Bucks who were keen in
signing him to strengthen the contingent for the remainder of the season.
The move was heavily criticised by the fans on the social media
platform X — previously known as Twitter — where some even went on to call
Morey ‘a liar and a fraud’.
The Sixers are having a decent campaign where they are
placed on the third position with 31 wins and 21 defeats in the Atlantic
Standings.
In the previous outing against the Washington Wizards, the
Sixers secured a much-needed win with a score of 119-113 at the Capital One
Arena on Saturday. It was their first win after four consecutive defeats in the
competition.
Beverley, who plays as a point guard, is having a decent
level on a personal level where he is averaging 6.3 points, three rebounds and 3.1
assists per game.
His most impressive outing this season came in the match
against the Denver Nuggets where he registered 17 points to go with four
rebounds and 11 assists.
