Anthony Edwards had to leave a game at halftime for a very special reason. It was because his girlfriend, Jeanine Robel, was giving birth to Edwards' first child.
Now, Edwards and Robels' daughter has been introduced to the world in an Instagram post. In the social media image, Robel is seen holding the young daughter. "The youngest in charge has arrived. Baby AJE," the caption below said.
Edwards and Robel have been dating for a few months and confirmed their relationship in January of last year after a Timberwolves' game against the Houston Rockets.
The beauty and joy of having a new daughter is just one of the many amazing things that has happened to Edwards lately. The All-Star player has averaged 26.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists so far this season. Meanwhile, his Timberwolves are doing better than they have in years and are currently the best team in the Western Conference. After years of falling short, many analysts believe the Timberwolves have what it takes to go far in the playoffs.
In the game after his daughter's birth, Edwards felt fired up and ready to play and dropped 27 points and 5 rebounds against the Los Angeles Clippers. Unfortunately, his team lost in that game. They did, however, beat the Portland Trail Blazers 119-114 on Monday night.
Edwards will next play against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night.
