There is no doubt that
Boston Celtics superstar
Jayson Tatum is one of the biggest and best basketball players in the world. That was confirmed on Thursday when he was once again selected to be an
All-Star starter for next month's annual event.
Speaking to the press after his Thursday night win against the Miami Heat, Tatum spoke about being chosen for the game for the fifth year in a row.
"It means the world. I never get used to it, I never want to take it for granted," Tatum said. "As a kid it was my dream. I watched All-Star Weekend every year growing up and dreamed about one day being in that game. So to be voted in as a starter, fifth straight year in the game, it doesn't seem real at times."
He went on:
"Thanks to all the fans. There are so many guys they could vote for, and I continue to get voted as one of the top guys. It's pretty cool. I think it's important to celebrate those small wins throughout the season. Obviously, there's more things you want to accomplish, but being an All-Star never gets old and I'm very grateful for that."
Tatum has had a great time playing in previous All-Star Games and actually won the MVP for the 2023 All-Star Game after scoring 55 points.
Tatum's Celtics are having another terrific season and are currently the top team in the East. And Tatum is at the center of it all, averaging 27 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
On Thursday night, he scored 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists against the Miami Heat and earned a 143-110 victory, Boston's 35th of the season.
