Draymond Green and
Desmond Bane were handed technical fouls
in the match between the
Golden State Warriors and the
Memphis Grizzlies.
The altercation started in the second quarter, first between
Green and Santi Aldama. Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins called a timeout soon
after the incident to ask the referee to assess the situation on the court.
However, things heated up further as Bane also got involved
with Green and both players were handed technical fouls. Both players ended up
shaking hands after the incident.
Green’s record has not been a great one when it comes to technical
fouls as it was his eighth offence this season and the second ever since he returned
from an indefinite suspension in January earlier this year.
The Warriors ended up winning the contest with a score of
137-116 at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Wednesday. Despite the win, Steve
Kerr’s men remain in the 10th spot in the Western Conference with 36
wins and 32 defeats this season.
The star of the show for the winning team on the night was forward
Jonathan Kuminga who registered 26 points to go with five rebounds and four assists.
He was well-supported by shooting guard Klay Thompson who registered 23 points,
two assists and one block.
