The
Chicago Bulls will face the
Atlanta Hawks in the NBA
Play-in tournament on April 17. Both teams will be the four from the Eastern
Conference to participate in the competition to finalise the last two berths in
the NBA playoffs this season.
As things stand, the Bulls and Hawks are certain to finish
in the ninth and 10th spot in the Eastern Conference. Bulls have won
37 matches and suffered 40 defeats. On the other hand, the Hawks are placed in the 10th
spot with 36 wins and 42 defeats.
For the other two spots, there is tough competition between
the five teams — the Orlando Magic, the New York Knicks, the Indiana Pacers,
the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers.
In the previous three fixtures earlier in the competition, it
was the Bulls who had an advantage with two wins compared to one from the Hawks.
However, the latter side emerged victorious in the previous outing.
The Bulls will be hoping to have a similar run as last season
where they started the pre-season with the play-in tournament but went all the
way to the NBA Finals.
For the Bulls, the journey can prove to be an interesting
one as if they manage to win both of their play-in tournament matches, their
first opponent in the playoffs will be the Boston Celtics.
