Point guard
D'Angelo Russell was the star performer for the
Los Angeles Lakers as they secured a nail-biting win against the Milwaukee
Bucks with a score of 123-122 at the crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Friday.
The 28-year-old had a fabulous night for the winning team and
while doing so, he achieved a milestone as well. He registered a career-high nine
triples and became only the third player from the Lakers to achieve that in a
single match.
Previously, only legendary
Kobe Bryant managed to register
the feat four times whereas
LeBron James only managed to achieve against the
Los Angeles Clippers in the 2022-23 season.
Russell ended up registering 44 points for the winning team to
go with six rebounds and nine assists. It was his best outing this season for
the franchise as well.
He was well-supported by power forward Anthony Davis who
registered 22 points to go with 13 rebounds and five assists. Russell is having
a more than decent season for the Lakers where he is contributing 17.7 points
per game to go with 2.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists.
The result was an
important one as it pushed the Lakers to the ninth position in the Western
Conference table with 35 wins and 30 defeats.
