The Bulls had 4 players score 20 or more points tonight, and
DeMar Derozan led the way to help the Chicago Bulls defeat the Memphis
Grizzlies at FedExForum.
Despite being rumored to be sellers at the deadline, the
Bulls did not make any trades earlier today. They believe that they have enough
to compete in the Eastern Conference and have decided to move forward with the current
roster constructed. It will be interesting to see how this season plays out for
Chicago as a lot of their key rotation pieces will be free agents in the offseason.
Derozan had a game-high 30 points on 11/17 shooting to go
along with 8 rebounds. Nikola Vucevic finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 5
assists, and 2 blocks while Coby White recorded 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 8
assists. Andre Drummond had 21 points and 13 rebounds off the bench.
JJJ led the way for Memphis, as he finished with 28 points
on 50% shooting. GG Jackson had 27 points and 9 rebounds off the bench. Vince
Williams nearly had a triple double, as he recorded 13 points, 11 rebounds, 8
assists, and 3 steals.
This win improves the Bulls to 25-27, which makes them 9th
in the Eastern Conference. Chicago is now 3.5 games behind the 6th seeded Pacers
for the last official playoff spot. They are 6-4 over their last 10 games and
currently on a 2-game winning streak. Their next game will be on Saturday night
against the Orlando Magic.
Meanwhile, this loss drops the Grizzlies to 18-34 on the
season. Memphis is 3-7 over their last 10 games and currently on a 7-game losing
streak. Their next game will be on Saturday night against the Charlotte Hornets.
