Social media showed mixed reactions after reports emerged
that
Golden State Warriors made an unsuccessful bid to sign
Los Angeles Lakers star
LeBron James in the recently concluded transfer window.
The mid-season transfer window came to an end a week back on
Thursday as teams finalised their strategy and contingent for the remainder of
the campaign.
As per ESPN’s recent report, it was revealed that the Warriors
made a last-minute bid to sign James in the recent transfer window. The story
made sense as there were a lot of rumours in the market about the future of the
39-year-old with the Lakers.
The story attracted a lot of interest because if the deal had
gone through, the fans would get to see two elite competitors James and
Warriors star
Stephen Curry playing in the same team.
Fans on the social media platform X — previously known as
Twitter — expressed shock over the developments where one even stated that it ‘does
not even sound real’.
James is having an amazing season on a personal level where
he is averaging 24.8 points per game which is the best by any Lakers players.
To go with that, he is also winning 7.2 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game.
