The Sacramento Kings are battling in the Western Conference to try to avoid what looks as the deadliest play-in tournament ever. Currently 8th they've had a good season overall, with some ups and downs. Domantas Sabonis has been spectacular throughout this campaign, his best since he got to the NBA. As shared in a recent interview, Sabonis explained that deleting his social media accounts helped him to focus and dedicate more time to improve his skills.
Sabonis not only looked amazing on court, but his durability is also something worthy of mentioning. The lithuanian center played all 78 games with Sacramento, putting up incredible numbers night after night. He's averaging 19.5 points, 13.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game. His shooting splits are also excellent, nearly 60% from the field and 37.8% from three-point land.
On an interview with ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Sabonis unveiled his formula:
"I deleted all my social media at the beginning of the season. It's been the best thing ever, you don't have to worry about any of that. You just go out there and play your game. You have your coaches, you have your family, you have your teammates, and their opinion is the only one that matters. You just gotta go out there, trust your game and play."
Domantas also addressed the issue of having more clarity of mind without social media:
"No matter what it is, good or bad, something is creeping in your mind so it's better not to even see it, in my opinion," said the Kings player.
"It's amazing, you have a lot of more free time. Basically you watch film and you try to learn by yourself. You don't need to read or hear anything from anyone else. At the end of the day you're the one on the court playing."
Great mindset from the 27-year-old. His production has been wild this season so it wouldn't be a surprise if he stays this way for the years to come.
