Los Angeles Lakers is a franchise that's always searching for stars. LA is a big market for the league: the glamour; the legends; the championships; all of this results very attractive for almost any basketball player. And now, ESPN sources tell that the Lakers might try to pull off a major move to get Donovan Mitchell on the purple and gold uniform.
The plan, however, cannot get underway until the NBA Draft due to the complication of the first-round pick the Pelicans own as part of the Anthony Davis trade.
While they have not been directly linked to Mitchell, they have shown interest in the past, attempting to participate in the trade that sent the player to the Cavaliers.
Now, with three first-round picks available to trade, the possibility of seeing Mitchell, LeBron and Anthony Davis playing together for the Lakers doesn't seem so farfetch.
The big question is whether the Lakers will be willing to wait until the end of the season to finalize this potential trade or if they will look for more immediate moves at the trade deadline. With LeBron James on the team, strategic decisions become even more crucial, and the pressure is mounting at Staples Center.
