Golden State Warriors forward
Draymond Green believes that Kevin
Durant must lead Phoenix Suns to an NBA title to become a part of the GOAT
discussion.
The 35-year-old was recently quoted in a report where he stated
that he sees no reason why he should not be in the discussion of the NBA’s Greatest
Player Of All Time (GOAT).
“Why shouldn’t I be in that? That’s the question you should
ask. Why not? What haven’t I done?,” he asked.
Green, in a video posted on social media platform X—previously
known as Twitter—responded to those comments by stating that for Durant to
become a part of the GOAT discussion, he needs to lead his side an NBA title just
like Stephen Currey did in 2022 for Warriors.
"I think KD is one of the greatest scorers we have ever
seen, “he said. “The way KD scored the ball is so effortless. He’s never seen a
bad shot. Like he is going to get you 31 points on 14 shots. That is a normal
KD night. Obviously, I am not the one that’s going to be like ‘KD’s
championships aren’t real’. There is no championship that is not real.
“Steph didn't get the
credit that Steph gets today until 2022 when he led this team to a championship
and won Finals MVP. When all else was failing, Steph said ‘Alright fellas, com’on
let’s go there. Period. You gotta go do what Steph did to get to that
conversation."
