Los Angeles Lakers and
Brooklyn Nets are reportedly keen
about signing
Toronto Raptors star Gary Trent Jr.
The ongoing transfer window of the NBA is set to conclude on February and therefore, teams are now finalising their plans for one last push before
the window closes down.
As per NBA transfer insider Matt Moore, the Lakers and Nets are
eager to sign Trent Jr. before the end of the transfer window.
“They’re not done,” he wrote in his recent column. “Word is
that everyone who isn’t Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, or Jakob
Poeltl is available. The Raptors want to reset their timeline in terms of the
age of their players. Curiously, Poeltl is 28.“Gary Trent Jr. is the name most
frequently discussed, with the Lakers and Nets among the teams with interest.”
Trent Jr. is having a decent time on the court for the
Raptors where he is averaging 11.7 points per game to go with 2.2 rebounds and
1.6 assists per game as well.
In the Raptors’ previous game against New York Knicks, the
25-year-old registered 16 points for the team. His best outing this season came
in the match against the Miami Heat where he registered 28 points including two
rebounds as well.
