Fans on social media reacted after recent comments made by
the
Portland Trail Blazers centre
Deandre Ayton.
The 25-year-old struggled for the franchise in the early
part of the season but has managed to produce some impressive performances in
the recent past.
While talking about his early struggles, Ayton stated that
one of the reasons why he could not deliver as per the expectations was because he was not getting proper sleep as he was sleeping on an air mattress.
"My body wasn’t just my body. People forget the humane
difference of me adjusting to everything,” he said. “That included something as
routine as getting proper sleep, just being comfortable in waking up. I didn’t
have a bed for quite some time. I was on an air mattress, just trying to figure
this out.”
Those comments did not go down well with the fans on social media who refused to buy that argument. One fan went on to write: “Dude
makin $100 mill and sleeping on an air mattress??”
Ayton has contributed 15.9 points per game this season which
is the joint third-best by a Blazers player in the ongoing campaign. To go with
that, he has also contributed 11.2 rebounds which is the best by any Blazers
player this season.
