Draymond Green of the
Golden State Warriors is once again in the middle of controversy because of his latest ejection during a game against the Orlando Magic. As they have before, people are wondering if Green is more trouble than he's worth and is actively hurting his team's chances.
NBA analyst Rachel Nichols knows that Green has his problems but she also sees a huge upside to keeping him.
She explained all that Green does for the Warriors and, more specifically,
Stephen Curry.
“It’s what he does for this team,” Nichols said. “Every single major stat category, every single one, Steph’s numbers are better when Draymond is on the floor with him."
Nichols went on: "He activates Steph in a way that frankly no one else has been able to…Therefore, that is why they signed him to the four-year $100 million contract this season…I think you will see Draymond on this Warriors team with Steph for quite a long time.”
There is no doubt that Curry is a huge fan of his friend and teammate. Time and time again, he has stepped up to defend Green and remind fans of everything that he brings to the team. They have built a strong friendship and on-court partnership that has led to four championships.
That being said, will there come a point when Curry is too frustrated with Green and all of his on-court antics? He was visibly emotional after Draymond's latest ejection and there is a chance that all of of this is becoming too much of a distraction for the struggling team.
Curry has stood by his friend's side for years. Will that continue even if Green keeps acting out?
