Former
Golden State Warriors General Manager
Bob Myers has wondered how many rings
LeBron James would have won in his career if the Bay team hadn't been in his way.
The 39-year-old is often regarded as one of the greatest
players in the history of the NBA. He recently became the first player ever in the
competition’s history to register 40,000 points.
Myers was recently quoted in a report where he heaped praise
on James but also questioned how many championships he would’ve won if the opponents
had been the Warriors side featuring the likes of Stephen Curry and Kevin
Durrant.
"I’m lucky I’ve got to see him play in the Finals,” he
said. “This is gonna sound bad coming out of me. Had he not faced those
Warriors teams with Curry/Durant... how many championships might he have?"
Both Curry and Durrant were part of a strong Warriors team
that won back-to-back titles in the 2017 and 2018 campaigns. On both occasions,
they ended up defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers.
James is having a fabulous season for the Lakers where he is
contributing 25.3 points per game which is the best by a player from the
franchise. His best outing in this campaign came in the match against the Oklahoma
City Thunder where he registered 40 points to go with seven rebounds and seven
assists.
