The
Golden State Warriors veteran forward
Kevon Looney has
stated that the potential impact of the young duo of
Trayce Jackson-Davis and Brandin
Podziemski was evident even before the start of the campaign.
Both youngsters have been heavily involved in the
proceedings this season and they remain a few of the bright stars when hardly anything
went right for the Warriors.
Looney was recently quoted in a report where he stated how
he could see what the two were capable of before the start of the season when
both players were part of a third team and yet they were winning games.
“I definitely saw flashes of it in the summertime and our
summertime workouts and in training camp,” he said. “Training camp day was
really good. They were on the third team, and they were winning games.
“That’s tough in this league to do that playing against the
guys that we had. So we knew they had great potential, but we didn’t know how
fast they were going to learn to pick up everything, they picked it up pretty
fast and game tapes for our team.”
Jackson-Davis has played 57 games this season for the
Warriors where he has contributed 7.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per
game. Podziemski on the other hand contributed 9.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.8
assists per game.
